Poker Nations Cup
Victoria Coren with the Poker Nations Cup

Poker Nations Cup is Channel 4's and PartyPoker's innovative team poker tournament, in which top international players pursue not simply personal glory and reward but also the honour of playing for their country.

Each team consists of 6 players, 5 professionals and 1 online player. Over 6 heats, each player competes once to score points for their team. All 6 teams then compete in a 'tag' final where the captains make tactical substitutions and call strategic Time Outs. The team that prevails wins the first prize of $100,000 and the coveted Poker Nations Cup trophy.

The defending champions Great Britain are once again led by the UK's most famous poker player "Devilfish", Dave Ulliott. His team includes two players from the Hendon Mob stable – Ram "Crazy Horse" Vaswani and Joe "The Elegance" Beevers.

The USA team is again captained by top poker professional Robert Williamson III. His team includes Antonio Esfandiari, Clonie Gowen, Phil "Unabomber" Laak and his Hollywood actress girlfriend, Jennifer Tilly.

The other teams are captained by Marcel Luske ( Holland ), Michael Keiner ( Germany ), Bo Sehlstedt ( Sweden ) and Theo Jorgensen ( Denmark ).

The Points

Each individual is awarded points that are then transferred into chips at the Grand Final:
1st place – 16 points
2nd place – 11 points
3rd place – 7 points
4th place – 4 points
5th place – 2 points
6th place – 1 point

Hosted by journalist and avid poker player Victoria Coren, with commentary from poker Barny Boatman, Poker Nations Cup 2007 was aired on Channel 4 in March 2007.
