Play few hands from the early position
(i.e. left of The Dealer Button). Most top players play only 20-30%
of their starting hands. Concentrate on higher value starting hands
and help remove the element of luck from the game. You'll end up
throwing lots of hands away, but you'll be saving money in the long
run!
Texas Hold'Em is all about position.
Playing in the late position gives you a big advantage. A good starting
hand in the early position may be a worse hand to play than a bad
hand in the late position.
Watch your opponents' habits, especially when you're not in a hand.
You can be far more analytical when you aren't emotionally involved in the action.
If you've got bad hole cards, don't expect the flop to remedy the situation. Don't be afraid to sacrifice some early blinds and avoid danger. Fold frequently.
Bet with your head, not over it!
Very few people make their fortunes playing poker.
Many more lose theirs. Bet within your means and know when to walk away.
