Phoenix Nights
Brian Potter
Brian Potter

Wheelchair bound impresario, Brian Potter has club land running through his veins, and cold, hard cash ruling his heart. His somewhat chequered career in Bolton’s light-entertainment heartland has been dogged by controversy and rival club owner, Den Perry.

He used to manage The Aquarius until he lost the use of his legs after a fruit machine crushed him in a tragic flooding accident, and his next club The Neptune burnt down after he economised with the fairy lights one Christmas, but The Phoenix is a new start for Brian.

Okay, so it burned down but he isn’t one to let an opportunity pass him by. Banned from getting a license he signs up the long-suffering Jerry as the new licensee, sells off souvenirs of the blaze, gets his booze from France, and tries to frame Den for the blaze on Crimetime.

Brian Potter
This is only the beginning, with Jerry by his side and everything under one roof, including a Chinese restaurant Brian has tasted the future and the only thing that can stop him now is his cavalier attitude to fire safety, and a Home Office investigation into biological weapons at the club.

> Fire Safety
In episode four of That Peter Kay Thing a Fire and Safety Officer tried to close the Phoenix Club.
