Owner of The Banana Grove and Brian’s long-time nemesis, there’s nothing Den Perry would like more than to drive The Phoenix out of business, and goes out of his way to cause mischief.
He convinces Jerry to hire in-your-face clairvoyant Clinton Baptiste, cancels the acts for The Phoenix’s Stars in your Eyes night, and after hosting the finals of Talent Trek (after Brian convinced the judges Jerry was dying of cancer), he ‘accidentally’ burned down the club with a discarded cigar.
However Den’s plans come crashing down around his ears after Brian tapes his arson confession and broadcasts it across the club’s PA, leaving Den facing a long stretch in chokey, and finally a secure future for The Phoenix.
