Scantly clad in figure-hugging outfits, Pixi and Frank were handcuffed to a Pole Dancing pole, asked to swing around it while gyrating first down and then up the shinny shaft in a "sexy" manner. Each time would count as a single 'routine'. But that's quite enough of their life stories, so on with the People's challenge for television!
In a highly erotic People's Record attempt (or should that be "homo-erotic"?), the two brave fellas walked on stage rather confident they would complete the task with ease.
But with referees Les Kyprianou and Wes Linden deeming whether each pole routine was sexy enough, and the song Silver Lady by David Soul rapidly nearing an end, Frank and Pixi were clearly feeling the pain.
Indeed, the pair ended up with such nasty welts on their wrists from the rubbing handcuffs, they immediately expressed great respect for real-life pole dancers, and the important and challenging work they do.
For the record, Frank took the People's Record crown by registering 42 acceptably sexy pole routines - two more than his South African counterpart, who is currently on his travels in good old England.
And as Springbok Pixi was reminded halfway through the great man David Soul's song: "Here I am a million miles from home". How true, David, how true.
