Episode One: Sophie's Parents
Having finally proposed to Sophie, Mark is having doubts: Is he settling for a sugar bowl he doesn't love, which he secretly wants to get chipped and broken, so he can get the one of his dreams?

A weekend in the country brings things to the boil as the El Dude Brothers walk into Sophie’s parents' own marital holocaust during her birthday celebrations. And after a cosy fireside chat with Ian, Sophie's dad, Mark finally decides to make a stand.
However a combination of Jez, Sophie's mum and Diana Memorial Strawberry Jam, arson, half a rural cottage and a tragic game of 'truth', leads to Mark's good impression thermometer reaching absolute zero. Still who cares about being trapped in a loveless husk of a marriage when you can have a house in the Ardennes, and a flat in Barcelona?
