Sophie's in Bristol, Mark hardly sees her and when he does, they argue, it's time to pull out the big guns.
He decides the answer is to ask Sophie to marry him, and a weekend in Somerset in a four star hotel, using The Sunday Times Hotel MegaDeal vouchers, gives him the ideal opportunity to ask.

Love blossoms in the Quantocks, but for Jez and Big Suze whilst Super Hans is going cold turkey in the hotel, but Mark and Sophie seem further apart than ever before.
A heart-to-heart with Jez on the moors finally clears Mark's mind, until Sophie finds the ring and accepts his effective proposal before he can tell her about his feelings. Still, not really loving her puts him in a position of power and he wins. Sort of.
