Naveen Andrews

Londoner Naveen Andrews studied acting at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama. It was a successful time for the Guildhall, his contemporaries included fellow British movie stars Ewan McGregor and David Thewlis.

After starring as the curiously named 'Bike' in Hanif Kureshi's film, London Kills Me, his big break occurred when he was cast opposite Juliette Binoche, Ralph Fiennes and Kristin Scott Thomas in the multi Oscar-winning film, The English Patient.

He went on to appear in such films as Kama Sutra, Mighty Joe Young, True Love and Chaos, Rollerball, Bride and Prejudice and Drowning on Dry Land. This last movie co-starred Barbara Hershey - his current partner and some 21 years his senior.

Highlights of his acclaimed television appearances include his performance in The Chippendale Murders and The Buddha of Suburbia, for which he was nominated for Best Actor at the San Remo Film Festival.

He was born on 17 January 1969. He has one son, Jaisal, and enjoys playing the guitar, composing and reading.
