Long time no speak...

Long time no speak...

Hello Lost blogger readers, I trust you are all well. My sincere apologies for the prolonged silence - real life (ie work stuff mainly) got in the way, not to mention the protracted "will they, wont they" question as to whether Channel 4 would show Season Three of Lost. As you are all probably aware by now, Sky One have now acquired the rights - mainly, I suspect, because the price got waaay too high for C4 to stump up the readies. Boo hiss. The forlorn look on this puppy's face rather sums up how I felt when I heard the news...no more Lost on terrestrial TV! Farewell Lost Experience! So long Lost blog...sob!

And then I had a thought. Why not carry on with the blog - but elsewhere? Which would have the dual appeal of allowing me to make it a 'real' blog (comments! archives!) but also means I can shoot the breeze about Lost Season Three (of which I just might have seen all so far) AND my brand, spanking new job. Which is gonna give me access to loads of up and coming US shows - amazing! Anyway - that's my grand plan - now I just have to get it sorted. Which I shall endeavour to do this weekend, if not before, so watch this space...

NB - no animals were harmed for the purposes of this post - the puppy above belongs to a friend of a friend and has a naturally woebogone expression. Bless.

It's all over...for now!

It's all over...for now!

That's it - the end of season two, and blow me down if it wasn't a corker of a finale! Though, as I suspected, it simply raised more questions than answers... plus I found it so fast-paced, with so much happening at breakneck speed that I couldn't even pause for too much thought apart from the occasional 'cor', 'blimey' and 'well, i never!' The last of those was reserved for the increasingly ubiquitous mainstay that is Alan Dale - your friendly, ex-Neighbours rent-a-villain in American drama these days (24, The OC, Ugly Betty - watch out for that last one on C4 in the New Year). I love you Jim Robinson!

Anyways, forget what I thought - you lot emailed me in droves, and are far more interesting etc. So here's a few of my faves, edited down for brevity ;)

Laws writes: "Hey "Other Girl", first things first, O MY F*****G GOD!!! What an episode. Though like the season finale of the first season, there are many answers but still questions which you didn't expect coming. I mean the "Others" so-called leader was not their leader, it was Gale!...The only gripe I have yet with Lost is how long it is gonna go for and if this storyline is gonna look really rubbish. I mean I hope it's not like the ending of the most recent making of Crossroads. Plus if it goes on for too long, I'm gonna get cheesed off." Hear hear!

Nickb reckons: "the sickness, looks like its natural to the island. Maybe setting up the button meant control, so the DHARMA peeps could work without fear. But then, when the incident happened, the electromagnetic radiation poisoning returned, hence the vaccine? If this were true though, now that the button is gone, maybe the radiation will be natural again....meaning sick Losties...
Also gotta mention Michael that little snitch! Notice the pier was "Pala Ferry" - mentioned in the Pearl Orientation film as the place where you can "go back to the barracks" - Others real camp?" Hmmm...

Dan Rowley thought: "The hatch and the white light did Desmond shut it down with the key? Is the island now dead, in effect?

The observation station, which picked up the magnetic surge in Desmonds flashback, Penny said that if you were resourceful enough, you could find anyone, and that she had both the resources and the money. She also left him a letter saying she would always wait for him. So, while Desmond was stuck on the island, she somehow learned that the way to find him was to look for massive electronic surges. How did she know this?

My theory the picture of her father (back of the boat race brochure Desmond showed to Libby in the coffee shop) said 'philanthropist' underneath. Not a word you hear applied to anyone that often, but certainly a word used to describe Alvar Hanso, founder of the Hanso Foundation and Dharma. Was Pennys dad a member of the Hanso Foundation, and did she manage to learn from him that Desmond was on an island emitting electronic surges? If so, that would assume Desmond was somehow 'sent' to the island..." Indeed!

Ryan L mused: "the whole 4 toed statue thing - a relic from people who were there before Dharma or a ruined tribute to the legend that is Homer Simpson (as he to has only 4 toes per foot!)"

Finally - in summation - Martyn F's consise reaction: :O

Last two episodes tonight...and Hanso site up again!

Well well well... here we are about to come to the end of an 'action-packed' second series. And I have to say, it's shaping up to be a doozy of a finale.... Tell me your thoughts tomorrow, and I'll post my favourites. I'm already rather excited, and planning my snacking accordingly...

Also, as you may have noticed, the Hanso Foundation site is back up, with a message from Alvar himself... I still don't get how the hell Rachel can be his daughter - she can't be a day over 20, and he's supposed to have been around since the 1920's, right?! Anyway - you may want to have a click around the end of the third paragraph - seems Mittelwerk wont be slinking away with his tail between his legs... Til tomorrow comrades!

The end is nigh!

Sound the bells and all that, because we're pretty much there as far as Ms B's quest to make public the devilish workings of the Hanso Foundation is concerned!

Did you phone DJ Dan and put your questions to him? It was quite a broadcast...if you didn't catch it, head on over to thelostexperienceclues.blogspot for the full audio stream. They've also got Rachel's final video up, where she speaks to Alvar. Vital viewing...
So what do we make of all this? Where the hell is Mittelwerk, what's happened to Hanso and what about Rachel herself?!

I'll be back with my thoughts later on today. In the meantime, mail me yours. One more thing - gotta draw your attention to a worthwhile cause: an auction for America's Walk for Diabetes. Not sure it'll cope with overseas posting, but if you fancy a shot, or live in the States, check it out. Ta-ra!

Through the wormhole?

Through the wormhole?

Morning folks, and what a beautiful, sunny morning it is too - well, if you're in the South-East anyway. Make the most of it, as I hear hurricanes are on the way. So, here's a little theory for you, courtesy of Will K:

"Whilst listening to some potential lost theories on Channel 4's podcast the other night, it came to my attention that Donnie Darko (the greatest film possibly of all time) and especially the director's cut (which explains the plot in full) has many similarities to Lost. Here is a list of all the possible connections i have come to: plane crashes, numbers, possibly dates, psychological themes, placebo pills and cures, end of the world, seeing the future, strange dreams..." Sooo - what do you make of that, then?
