During the last couple of weeks, Hollyoaks have been ‘Desperately Seeking’ a new ‘face’ to play the brand new character, India. Holding online auditions on the Desperately Seeking E4 page, 1679 entries have been narrowed down to just 25!

Those 25 today made their way to Lime Pictures studios where they were put through their paces. We caught up with a few of the potential Indias (Venetia Grivas, Catherine Williams and Brooke India Burfitt-Dons) during a break from their auditions to see what they’d been up to.

“It’s been a really long process,” says Catherine. “We all had screen tests in the morning when we came in and then we went to the McQueen house and had to do an extended version of the script in front of a panel. Then we got interviewed by Ricky (Calvin) and Gemma (Carmel). It was pretty intense”

“At lunch we were shortlisted down to the final 10,” says Brooke. “It was kind of hard because we got to know all the girls this morning, so it was uncomfortable to see some of them leave as we got through.”

Catherine said that audition process was far from over for the day, “We’re doing a workshop with the HCC students and then we’re doing a scene at the end of the day and they’ll then cut the shortlist down to three”.

“The overall winner will be announced on T4 this Saturday,” added Venetia.
