Currently, Jake Dean is in a psychiatric hospital after attempting to rape his new wife Nancy, before trying to kill himself and baby Charlie. In tonight's episode, Charlie's real dad Justin visits Jake to make a bargain with him. He offers to stay away from Charlie and allow him to be brought up as a true Dean, but in exchange Jake must confess to Sean Kennedy's murder. Jake's murder confession will leave his mum Frankie devastated and Warren and Justin off the hook.

Your storyline seemed to come to an end but tonight it takes a big twist when Sean Kennedy's body is found. Were you surprised by this aspect of the storyline?
I was very surprised but I love it, it's great! I sort of disappear for a bit then come back and I don't think that anyone will see it coming. It does give the scope for Jake to come back too.

Why do you think Jake agrees to take the blame for Sean's murder?
There's a bit in the script that I liked which said Jake wasn't doing it for Frankie or Jack but because Justin says that Charlie will be raised as a Dean, that's all that Jake cares about. He absolutely hates Justin with every fibre of his body and all he wants is for Justin to keep away from Charlie.
Jake says that he'll do it but makes Justin promise that he'll have nothing to do with Charlie for the rest of his life. When Justin asks why Jake would want that, Jake responds by saying, because you took everything I had away from me and now I want you to feel exactly how I feel. I really liked that.

I don't know. I have absolutely no idea. I think in a way he does a good thing because it helps a lot of people out, but at the same time it ruins things for Justin and Nancy. It does bring everything together and finish two big storylines off.

You have been given such a major leaving storyline, do you feel a lot of pressure to get it just right?
It doesn't matter because I always but pressure on myself. You're only as good as your last scene. I had time out so I was able to grow my hair and my beard for the role. I came into work one day and I hadn't shaved for a little bit and the producer said he loved it and that I should keep it. I couldn't wait to shave it off, I hated the thing!
