We caught up with Kevin Sacre (Jake), who has been on HOLLYOAKS for six years, to find out why he's decided to leave the show...
Why have you decided to leave the show?
I have been here since I was 24 and I turned 30 in March so I decided that once I turned 30 I’d go and explore other avenues. We have a lot of good actors on the show and it's great to see HOLLYOAKS actors go on to do great things because people are always saying that HOLLYOAKS actors are rubbish which is so unfair and untrue. I'd love to go and do something and people say 'oh look there's Kev, he's doing well and he's one of our lot’.
What will miss most about working on HOLLYOAKS?
The people without a doubt, it's been great and I probably will get quite emotional on my last day.

What are you plans for the future?
Anything really, just to get a job. I don't care really. Become a multi-millionaire and rule the world!
What would be your next ideal role?
I would like to do a British gangster film, I like playing the bad boy and I've realised I do psychotic quite well. Anyone that knows me would never be frightened of me or expect me to get in a fight, so when I watch myself on screen and see people getting scared at it, it's really funny.
Storyline wise - what do you think has been your finest moment on the show?
My finest moment? I'm not arrogant enough to answer that so I'll let the fans decide.

The most enjoyable film I've ever filmed was when I set fire to that mattress. I think the pyromaniac in me enjoyed that.
What has been your most embarrassing moment on the show?
It was definitely walking out of the potting shed with just a plant pot over my modesty. The reason that was the most embarrassing is because the day that it aired I just happened to walk into Tesco and there were loads of screens all playing HOLLYOAKS, there was this old woman who was really shocked and she just sort of looked from me, to the screen, and back again. I will never ever forget that for as long as I live.
Who will you miss most from working on the show?
Obviously I'm going to miss Jess (Nancy) because I've been working her a lot lately. Then there's James Sutton (John Paul) and Fudge (David Judge), I could name loads. You have to remember that since I started here a lot of the people I was close to have left already. I'll miss people like Carley Stenson (Steph), Helen Pearson (Frankie) who plays my mum, Jimmy McKenna (Jack) who makes me laugh everyday, and there's Ashley (Darren) too. There's not one person who could stand out, it's everyone, it's been great fun. It's like going to university; it's been so much fun.

Jake and Justin have had a long term rivalry on the show. Do you get on well with Chris in real life?
Yeah we get on fine! We don't get to work with each other as much as I'd like anymore and he can be quite annoying on set like me, we both have this ADHD thing going on!
What did you think when the producers revealed your departing storyline?
I knew about the Jake going crazy stuff because I was pushing for that but I didn’t know about the twist and when I heard I was like ‘what?’ That’s really cool.
