THRILLED
It's been a good year for Gemma Merna who won the Best Comedy Performance at the Soap Awards in May. She's up again for Best Newcomer at this year's star-studded National Television Awards. We asked Gemma how she felt when she first found out; "I was absolutely thrilled I couldn't believe it! It's fantastic to even be nominated and I’m up against some amazing actors."

Gemma is due to go up against Coronation Street's Kim Ryder, Eastender's Jo Joyner and Emmerdale's Joseph Gilgun. Does Gemma expect to win? "I'll just have to see what happens there's some great competition but I'm just going to enjoy the night and look forward to my clip being shown."

James Sutton is up for the Best Actor Award and said:"I was a little surprised when I found out and although I don't expect too much it's good to be nominated. I try not to read too much into these things and just enjoy the night." James goes up against Coronation Street's Antony Cotton, Eastender's Charlie Clements and Dr Who's David Tennant. "I don't feel too nervous about the actual night it's always something different and enjoyable to go to the formal occasions and I enjoy the after party."
