POISONING
The students hold a welcome party for John Paul in tonight's episode on Channel 4, and Jessica's left in charge of getting the boiler fixed. Eager to save money, she gets handyman Danny Valentine to sort the problem, even though he says he can't fix boilers. The party turns to tragedy after the students ignore the alarm, and everyone eventually passes out with carbon monoxide poisoning.

FIRE
It's clear that careless behaviour can lead to very dangerous consequences, and not just with gas leaks. Fire safety is also a serious issue for students - over the past five years cigarettes, smoking materials and candles have been the cause of 1,500 injuries among 18 – 24 years olds. People without a working smoke alarm are more than twice as likely to die in a fire. Kent Riley (who plays student Zak Ramsey) has also teamed up with Communities and Local Government's Fire Kills Campaign to encourage thousands of students to keep safe from fire in rented accommodation. We all know that partying, smoking and drinking are all part and parcel of the student lifestyle, but it could be putting you at higher risk of fire. Kent (Zak) said: "A lot of students don't realise that they're putting themselves in danger by not following some basic fire safety procedures."
