People know you from your time in Dream Team but how does being in Hollyoaks differ from that?
I don't think the schedule is much different, Dream Team was pretty much five days a week because it was an hour long show and we had to shoot 32 episodes in 9 months so I don’t think the schedules were any different it’s just the characters I play are completely different – one had a limp and one didn't!
Dream Team had a bit of a cult following, I think it had probably half a million viewers whereas Hollyoaks I think is climbing up to four and a half million so the attention has grown but I still get spotted by Dream Team fans all the time which is great.

How did the move to Hollyoaks come about?
I had just finished the end of series nine in Dream Team and my agent sent me for an audition for Hollyoaks, I came in and did the audition and I didn't think I had got the part. About three weeks had gone and then all of a sudden my agent rang to tell me I had got it so I was made up.

There is a bit of a theme though with playing the bad guy roles...
When I played Alex Dempsey he was more of a troubled soul. He got himself into situations accidentally and he tried to frame other people because his wife was pregnant and he didn’t want go to jail whereas Warren is just bad. But he doesn’t think he and that’s the thing, he thinks he’s a nice guy and he has got some good qualities but most of all he’s pretty bad.

How is playing a bad boy?
I get asked this quite a lot and it’s fantastic. I get to come into work everyday and beat up Chris Fountain and just be nasty to people all day, you can’t ask for a better job than that really.
Is it good because the character is so different from you?
No, because we are the same people. Only joking! Definitely, it’s nice to come into work and let a big of anger out I suppose and just be someone totally different but obviously the character has to have a little bit of you in them because you have to be able to relate to them but I am obviously not a murderer.
Are you a tough guy in real life?
No I am a pussycat. Seriously though I don’t let anyone give me any c**p but I don’t go round killing anyone.

Did you imagine you would be working with Ricky Whittle again so soon?
I came for my audition first, Ricky then rang me to tell me he had an audition for Hollyoaks and I was like ‘no way I’ve already got a part in it’ because I had just found out, so I put a word in for him but Ricky is a great actor.
There are plenty of you from Dream Team in the soaps now?
There are a lot of people who have done really well from the series I was in. You have got Rob Kazinsky, who is in Eastenders, Ali King who is in Coronation Street, Me and Ricky in Hollyoaks so it’s going really well for us all so far.

What has been the best storyline for your character?
So far, apart from the one we are currently filming, I would have to say moving Sean’s body. Me and Chris worked really hard on that storyline and we gave it everything so I would have to say that is probably the best so far.
If your character HAD to be killed off, how would you want him to go?
In a blaze of glory. I don’t know because I haven’t thought about it really. I don’t want to go anywhere yet so I would have to think about that nearer the time but a Police chase or something like that would be good so we could spend loads of money on a big stunt.

There is a bit of competition to be the worst though isn’t there from Clare who has proved to be pretty evil!!
Clare is just an out and out bitch whereas Warren has got some redeeming qualities. He can be nice to people and he is the kind of baddie that you love to hate.
You can’t make your mind up whether you like him or hate him but Clare is just out and out evil. She has got no remorse or anything.

In real life which girl out of Louise, Clare and Mercedes would be your type?
All three together! No seriously they are all my friends so I can’t really pick one.
If you were stranded on a desert island - which 2 of your co-stars would you take with you and why?
That is an unfair question because as I have said all of the cast are my friends and it’s really hard to only choose two. I get on really well with Anthony Quinlan because we have got the Manchester connection. Ricky Whittle because I’ve known him for ages, Jimmy McKenna, Nick Pickard, Ashley Taylor Dawson, in fact I get on with all the lads really well so I can’t really answer that one. I would take them all with me, I’d put them in my suitcase.

Is it true that Debbie Dingle (Charley Webb) in Emmerdale is your sister?
It is yeah she’s a fantastic actress but she does her job and I do mine. It gets mentioned every now and again in interviews. She’ll mention me or I’ll mention her but she’s doing a fantastic job and I am really proud of her.
I bet it makes life interesting when the Soap awards are coming up?
My mum’s mantelpiece is full of awards from her so I have got a little bit of catching up to do. She is up for Best Actress and I am up for Best Villain so I am going to try to get to that Best Actor level but we’ll see.

Would you rather be in Hollyoaks or play for Manchester United?
I don’t think you even have to ask that, it’s Manchester United all day long. Apart from the fact they get paid £150,000 a week I think everyone wants to be a footballer don’t they but I suppose if you asked most footballers they would say that they’d like to be actors.
