Jennifer Metcalfe (Mercedes McQueen)
Mercedes always has gorgeous hair in the show, both when it's curly and straight. Are there any hair products that you would recommend for keeping long hair looking good?
JM: Generally I don't use any hair products although now that I am having my hair straight as Mercedes the make up girls have started using Bed Head thickening spray. My hair is naturally quite fine, but that stuff is amazing and it smells of bubblegum too!What is the most embarrassing item of clothing that you have ever owned?
JM: I was sorting through a box of old photos the other day and it seems that when I was about seven I was in love with a little spotty number that I had in bright pink, bright orange and bright yellow. It was a spotty skirt with a little top, headband and legwarmers. I was very young though!Magazines often feature the HOLLYOAKS girls wearing designer clothes. Do you have a favourite designer?
JM: I wore a Roberto Cavalli dress to the Soap Awards this year. I have quite a few Roberto Cavalli dresses in lots of different colours and I love them all.
Gerard McCarthy (Kris Fisher)
Do you have a favourite aftershave and if so what is it?
GM: I like to vary my aftershave every couple of weeks but my favourite is probably Blue Jeans by Armani.Kris has to wear some pretty daring outfits. Which has been the worst one so far?
GM: I don't know where to begin!! One of the worst was certainly in a recent episode where Kris has a singing competition with Summer. I had to wear a particularly hideous sixties style dress - it looked like someone had eaten a huge bag of dolly mixtures and puked them up all over me!!With all the make up you have to wear as Kris do you use any beauty products to protect your skin?
GM: Since I have been working at HOLLYOAKS the make up department have equipped me with cleanser, toner and moisturiser which I have to use every night to get all of the make up off. The main brand they recommend is Simple although I do have some Nivea for men moisturiser.
Summer Strallen
If you were going to a desert island and could only bring one item of make up what would it be and why?
SS: For me it wouldn't be so much a product but my eyelash curlers, definitely. They awaken your eyes in the morning!What is your favourite item of clothing at the moment?
SS: My Ugg boots. They're not actually Ugg boots, they are the cheaper version from Claire's accessories but they are so comfortable. I wear them all the time!With filming episodes in advance you must know what is going to be fashionable quite early on. Do you have any tips for what is going to be hot this winter?
Big knits are definitely in. I wear a lot of jumper dresses as Summer in the show which fits right into this trend. Hats too, nice warm tea-cosy hats!
