We caught up with HOLLYOAKS new Producer Lucy Allan to find out what we can expect from HOLLYOAKS in the coming months...
Your first episodes go out in June. What can we expect from the Lucy Allan era of HOLLYOAKS?
I think the first thing to say is that obviously I've inherited a show that's in fantastic shape and you're not going to get any massive changes, there won't be a change in the look or the content. We have new characters and big driving stories taking us through to Christmas and we're building towards a big summer story involving the school kids.
There have been rumours of a ‘mass cull’ at Hollyoaks. Is there any truth in this?
Absolutely not. As people know Chris (Justin), Jamie (Warren) and Stuart (Russ) will be leaving the show but there is no cull and there is no desire as I say to make big key changes to the show.
There have also been rumours for some months now that some old cast members will be returning. Is this something we can expect?
Obviously people know that there is one old cast member returning (Gemma Bissix, who plays Clare Devine) and there may be one other surprise for later on this year.
There have been a lot of new characters joining the show recently, are you pleased with how they've integrated into Hollyoaks?
Absolutely. I think the characters we've brought in recently have been really well defined and they've brought a new dynamic to the show.
