We caught up with Saira Choudhry (Anita Roy) and Joel Goonan (Gaz) to ask them all of the questions you sent in about the Anita and Gaz bullying storyline.

I think the storyline in Hollyoaks is great at the moment. How does it feel for you playing this part? Jahada
I've actually surprised myself. When I first got the scripts through I was like "wow, this is really deep stuff. It's going to be a challenge." But once I'd immersed myself into the part, it became easier and easier. I did go home absolutely depressed for about a month though, because you have to get yourself into that mindset. I tried to make myself have the feelings I thought Anita would feel.

When you first got the part of Anita, did you know you would be involved in a bullying storyline? Kelly, Plymouth
No, not at all. When I first got the storyline through I was quite surprised really, because of the nature of the bullying and with it being racist, which is quite controversial. Also with some of the things that Gaz does to Anita. I was quite shocked really, I thought wow these are going to be some quite dark scenes, and I don't know whether anything like this has been shown before on Hollyoaks. It was good for me because I saw it as a chance to do something new, since it's very different from the normal school scenes we do. But yeah, I just felt really glad to be given the chance to do something like this - it was a big challenge.
