Frankie is desperate to have her family back together and now Jake's out, she just needs Newt back. Visiting him in hospital she is relieved to be told that he's been given the all clear and is free to leave. Not wanting to rock the boat, she conveniently fails to mention that Jake is back so when they arrive home to find him there, Newt is less than impressed. He can't forgive Jake for what he did to Charlie and when Frankie pops out, Jake tries to explain himself to Newt by comparing their illnesses but this only makes Newt angrier. Jack returns and pleads with the lads to at least try and get along for Frankie's sake but Newt can't and under the pretence of going to the shop, he leaves. When Frankie returns she is furious to find that Newt has gone. Frantic, her, Jack and Jake head out to search for him. When they spot him on top of the archway, it's almost too much for Frankie to take and she pleads with Newt to come down. Frankie is devastated to hear Newt talk like he means nothing to her but after a few heartfelt words from Jack, Newt agrees to come home. Without Jake around, Newt starts to relax but this is short lived when Frankie reveals they're moving to the Roys’ old place and Jake will be joining them.

Amy continues to struggle with her post-natal depression, despite Mike's encouragement. This only makes her feel under more pressure and increase her feelings of incompetency as a mum. When Mike has to go to the solicitors, she panics about what she'll do with the kids, despite the fact Ste is on his way. Mike's finding it harder to deal with his own grief as well as Amy's behaviour and eventually snaps at her. Amy genuinely feels bad but can't shake off the feeling of dread she has at the thought of being alone with Leah and Lucas. Ste arrives and although at first tentative towards Amy, he soon gets carried away about them being a real family once again, not realising it makes Amy feel ten times worse. A buoyed Ste pops to the shop but is horrified to return and discover Amy has left, leaving Lucas and Leah home alone.
