Darren's petrified after seeing Jake lose it and rushes to get Frankie's help. Frankie's torn between her two boys when she gets a desperate phone call from Newt, but knowing Jack and Lauren are on their way to him, she makes the decision to help Jake. When they arrive back at the flat, Jake's nowhere to be seen and, worried what he might be capable of, they rush over to Nancy's flat to see if he's there. After an awkward conversation with Nancy, without letting her know they're concerned about Jake's state of mind, alarm bells start ringing for Charlie's safety. Frankie fears she might never get her son back and is comforted by Darren. Frankie finally finds Jake and realises his actions were a cry for help but she promises to help him through it and reassures him he is getting better. Jake's relieved to have his mum back on side and talks about his feelings and the pain he's caused, worried he will never be able to forgive himself. Frankie realises Jake needs her more than ever and, determined to prove she believes in him and forgives him for what he's done, she takes him to see Charlie. Jake's grateful for his mum's support and overwhelmed at the sight of Charlie.
