Amy's thrilled with the karaoke machine that Ste brought home and takes it round to the Barnes', hoping to have an afternoon of fun, but unfortunately, Sarah has other plans. Passing Justin on her way home, an oblivious Amy drops Ste right in it when she tells him how pleased she was about the karaoke machine. Finally seeking courage to run her pregnancy test, Amy is filled with dread when she realises she is in fact pregnant. However, Ste is delighted and rings work, feigning illness so they can celebrate the good news. This is short lived when Justin confronts Ste over the missing goods. As Amy tries to defend Ste, it becomes apparent he's lying and once Justin has left, Ste's anger explodes. Amy receives blow after blow as Ste's aggression surfaces and even the fact that she's pregnant holds no power. Fleeing the flat, a terrified Amy has nowhere to turn until Tina offers to take her back to the McQueens'...

John Paul and Kieron tell a pleased Niall about their engagement. Discussing their immediate future, they agree to keep it a secret for the time being, until they tell Myra their news. Dominic's in full attentive mode with Tina and insists everything's going to be fine, the world is their oyster and with no ties, they can start living by going to The Loft tonight. Tina's worried sick by Max's trip to the hospital and confides to Niall how she's feeling. In turn, Niall gives her a pep talk and maintains that Max is now the most important thing in this whole sorry mess. In The Loft, John Paul and Kieron glow in the aftermath of their engagement and the success of gay night... The future certainly looks rosy up ahead...

Tony embraces fatherhood and remains on alert when he hears that Max has a cough. Jacqui insists he'll be fine, however, Tony's unconvinced. Jacqui instinctively knows that John Paul is hiding something from her, and uses force to get him to spill the truth about his engagement to Kieron. Thinking it's a bad idea, she's not scared to tell him exactly what she thinks of the situation before leaving. Noticing Tony dashing down the city steps with Max, Jacqui follows concerned, as Tina can only watch on from the peripheral. Returning from hospital, Tina's fears are allayed when she hears it is only a cough. Tina tells Tony and Jacqui that she's been to register Max's birth and Tony's name is there in black and white as his father. As Tony and Jacqui celebrate it seems as if Tina's mind is made up.

Elliot's bought Sarah a necklace after the Pharteze fiasco to prove how much she means to him, but attention soon moves to Kris when Malachy makes a surprise appearance and informs him that Eamon's gone missing. With the brothers at each others throats, Kris refuses to speak to Malachy and instead, Malachy has to get the info he wants from a helpful Elliot. Kris and Malachy continue to clash over their dad as the brothers refuse to see eye to eye on Eamon's mysterious disappearance...
