Daylight dawns and a serene Jack has been up all night, contemplating his future. As Darren oozes confidence about their overnight takings, a melancholy Jack seems detached. Newt and Darren reach an uneasy understanding, until Darren tells him that Jack wants him to stay at Nancy's for a while. Newt is devastated by this decision, but Jack insists he has to go. Downstairs in the bar, Jack is embarrassed when his regulars, including the McQueen family, make donations towards the pub. Kris also does his bit on the airwaves, enlisting the help of the student body to help raise cash for the Dog. Darren's guarded when a mystified Warren enquires why things are so bad for Jack, the one hundred grand from him and Louise surely must have helped them out financially...? Meanwhile, upstairs, a desperate Jack leaves a heart wrenching voicemail for Frankie, before making a shocking decision. Has Jack's luck run out or will Darren discover him just in time...?

Kris is still angry with Elliot over his interference with Eamon yesterday, while Zak is on tenterhooks, today's the day he tells his mum he's failed his finals. Passing Russ and Nancy at the SU Bar, Russ is jealous of Zak's extra year at uni, however, Zak doesn't quite see it like that. Nancy's perturbed to receive a call from Jack asking her to look after Newt for a few days as Zak points Eamon in the direction of the Media Lab - is there a reconciliation about to happen in the Fisher family... ? Meanwhile, back in Nancy's flat, Russ and Nancy struggle to engage with Newt, who's reluctant to move into Russ' bedroom. Feeling raw and unloved, Newt confesses that he knows Jack wants to send him back to the home and no matter how much Nancy attempts to alleviate his fears, Newt remains silent and brooding, refusing to communicate with anyone… Finally Kris and his dad meet up, to no avail - Eamon refuses to accept him for who he is, so there's no point hanging around. Back at Halls, Kris and Elliot make up, as a lonely and drunk Eamon leaves Hollyoaks for good...
Finally John Paul and Kieron begin their day as a proper couple, and as Kieron packs away his 'past' they decide to celebrate with a day in town, finished off with a few pints in the Dog. Meanwhile, a blissfully unaware Myra tells Mercedes that John Paul needs to be with his family, and once he's back in their bosom, deserves a fresh start. Arriving at the Dog, they both panic when Mercedes tells them Myra's inside as they prepare themselves for her wrath - which comes in a damning outburst. As they listen to Myra's tirade, Kieron stands tall and states for all to hear that he loves John Paul, and they're staying together - no matter what...!
