Danny's disgusted by Sasha after catching her in Steph's flat and struggles to comprehend how she could stoop so low. Leo's aware that something's happened and pleads with Danny to tell him what's going on. As he listens with horror, finally Leo is galvanised into action - Sasha has gone too far this time! Forcing her to face her despicable actions and return Steph's belongings, Leo insists she tells him where Nige is - he's going to pay him a visit. As Leo and Danny return from their confrontation with Nige, Sasha's horrified to discover they've beaten him up. Realising her only dealer has been scared off, a desperate Sasha turns on her family. With nowhere else to turn, Leo takes drastic action and buys Sasha some methadone off the streets. Danny's furious with his dad, insisting it could kill her and pours the mixture down the sink. As Sasha watches her fix disappear, utterly broken, her body is wracked with the need for heroin.

Steph attempts to carry on as normal, but losing things in the robbery, especially Max's wedding ring has hit her hard. With an unscrupulous Cindy hovering in the back ground, Steph digs deep to control her emotions. When OB appears, he brings with him some light relief, but he too is horrified that someone could steal from a grieving widow. Soon talk turns to Tom and O.B.'s arrival entices a subdued Tom out of his room and he opens up to O.B., confessing he doesn't want Max to be buried in the ground. As O.B. struggles to write Max's eulogy, he takes comfort in Steph's support. Accepting O.B. can't face reading at the funeral tomorrow, a resolute Steph steps forward - she'll do it. Later as Steph puts out the bins, a glimmer of hope lights her face when she discovers Max's wedding ring on her doorstep...

Mike's thrown when his decree nici arrives in the post. Zoe attempts to cheer him up but a day of boozing in the Union Bar wasn't exactly what he had in mind. Talk soon turns to Russ' new love interest, Caroline, and Russ confesses it's still early days yet. Seeing an opportunity to wind him up, Zak enlists the help of Zoe and the pair take great delight in playing a practical joke on Russ. Mike once again becomes aware of the age difference between him and Zoe and heads home, leaving Zoe in the bar with her student friends.

Val and Calvin are reluctant winners at the wedding fayre and uncomfortably take possession of a case and champagne and a prize cheque. With thoughts of Carmel playing heavily on his mind, Val attempts to gee up Calvin, but his heart lies heavy. After stopping off by the Jetty on the way back to 'normality', Calvin and Val have a heart to heart, and share an awkward kiss. Realising it's a mistake, they laugh and pull apart and both agree no-one need know...
