Russ remained in HOLLYOAKS when his family left to pursue his relationship with Mercedes McQueen. Their marriage ended after Russ found out she had cheated on him with Warren Fox. Russ has since embraced single life, and is completing a teacher training course.

Having previously appeared in both Family Affairs and Night and Day, Stuart landed the role of Russell Owen.
