26. Referee Clive Thomas blows the whistle for full-time as Brazil's would-be winner against Sweden flies into the net.

27. Brazilian Nelinho’s 30 yarder bends past the Italian goalie.

28. Arie Haan’s unstoppable 40 yard goal for Holland against Italy.

29. Mexico mess up their free kick and W Germany’s Rummenigge runs the length of the pitch to score at the other end.

30. Peru’s goalie Ramon Quiroga was known as El Loco for his mad dashes upfield and against Poland he gets booked for a foul in his opponents’ half.

42. The German and Austrian teams play out a 1-0 win for Germany, just enough for both to go through to the second round at the expense of Algeria.

43. Scotland's Alan Hansen and Willie Miller collide to let Soviet forward Shengelia through to score.

44. Graeme Souness of Scotland beats two defenders before slotting home from 25 yards against the Soviet Union.

45. Eder’s astonishing free kick against Argentina hits the bar, but Zico knocks it in.

46. Paolo Rossi’s brilliant hat-trick gives Italy a 3-2 win over Brazil to go through into the semi-finals.
