35. Big Brother III
The press said it was over even before it began but BB3 was the most popular series so far. Incidents like Sandy's rooftop escape, Alex's tantrums, Jade's strip tease and Kate's victory smile will live on ...at least until BB4 begins.

36. Make Me A Man
Most girls want expensive dresses and a discount card for the best hairdressers in town. These girls wanted to be boys. Scott, Stephen, Lee and Bob all believed they were born in the wrong body. This series showed how they dealt with the trials and tribulations of achieving their goal.

37. I'm A Celebrity - Get Me Out of Here!
Who'd have thought the imagination of a nation could be gripped by Tony Blackburn and his collection of logs?

38. Jarvis Cocker does Rolf Harris in Celebrity Stars In Their Eyes
Can you guess who it is yet? One of the most unexpected TV treats of the year as the lanky lad from Sheffield took up his wobble board to emulate the Aussie artist.

39. Phoenix Nights
Peter Kay's hilarious look at life in a Bolton social club was surely the freshest and funniest sit-com of 2002. Just don't ask him to put up a bouncy castle at your kids' party.

40. The West Wing
Look and learn Dubbya! Martin Sheen and Rob Lowe starred in the multi-Emmy Award winning series about the best president America never had.

41. The Office
He's back…and he's more cringe-making than ever. You will never watch a series that's funnier than this one - FACT! Thankfully, there was no 'second series syndrome' problems for Ricky Gervais and the cast.

42. The Commonwealth Games
On the eighth day god created Manchester, and in 2002, it was the venue for victories by some of the world's finest sports stars - from Paula Radcliffe's triumphant win in the 5000 metres to Jonathan Edwards' giant leap and turbo-charged 'Thorpedo' - Aussie Ian Thorpe. For once the sun was shining on the famously rainy city.

43. Stars and Their Doubles
From Brad Pitt-a-likes to Curly Watts-a-likes, never before have so many doppels ganged up together in one place. Des O'Connor kept a straight face and held the award ceremony together.

44. Would Like To Meet
Tracey, Jay and Jeremy summoned up all their powers to turn dating dunces into likely lads and lasses. They even turned a man who owned a stuffed mouse into a love god!

45. Celebrity Fit Club
Probably the toughest campaign trail Ann Widdecombe's ever been on. Sgnt Harvey barked out the orders as the celebs battled the bulge for charity. But just how much does Rik Waller really weigh?

46. Popstars - The Rivals
It's girls against boys this time - and that's just the judges. Pete Waterman's guys and Louis Walsh's girls fought the good fight to get to the top of the Christmas chart - with a little help from Geri.

47. Stark Naked
Is it a bird? Is it a plane? No it' just another naked parachutist dropping in for lunch in this jaw-dropping Channel Five series.

48. What Not To Wear
They're rude, but they're usually right. Skinny Trinny and boobs and bum afficionado Susannah terrorised mere mortals (and even celebrities) with rules for better dressing.

49. Weird Nature
This unforgettable BBC2 documentary proved that animals are just as dysfunctional as humans, showing us hedgehogs who smoke too much, lemurs hooked on hallucinogenic millipedes and drunken bees who get kicked out of the hive by tough bee bouncers.

50. Angelle - Vibe TV
Forget about Popstars - this girl found another way of trying to get to the top in 2002 - get your own TV channel! Angelle was the unexpected delight you came across while flicking through the satellite stations in 2002.
