THE 100 GREATEST TV TREATS OF 2002

1 - 16   17 - 34   35 - 50   51 - 64   65 - 76

17. Edwardian Country House
Viewers were hooked by the goings on upstairs and downstairs in this 'historical' docu-soap. What the butler saw included the hall boy and the kitchen maid, the footman in a drunken heap and the French chef calling the Master of the House a fraud.

18. Black Books
One of the comedies of the year - a zany, surreal series about a tiny book-shop run by chain-drinking, smoking Bernard (Dylan Moran), hairy hippy Manny (Bill Bailey) and their friend Fran (Tamsin Greig).

19. The Secret Life of the Office
Fascinating BBC2 fly-on-the-wall documentary about the Holiday Autos call centre run by businessman Clive Jacobs.

20. The Osbournes
Trend-setting celebrity docusoap starring the bat-chewing Brummie and his foul-mouthed brood. They might play death metal and throw hams at their neighbours, but they're still our favourite dysfunctional family.

21. The Beckhams World Cup Charity Party
While most of us were debating whether or not to have a barbecue at the weekend, Victoria went the whole hog with a Japanese-themed charity bash for 400 close friends on the eve of the World Cup.

22. David Blaine - Up a pole
The latest stunt by America's most famous magician was a test of sheer nerve and endurance. He stood on top of an 80ft pole in New York for 35 hours. And he even found time to take a call from Richard Madeley while he was up there.

23. Cutting It
It was curling tongs at dawn as Amanda Holden and Sarah Parish went head to head in a tale following the lives and loves of Manchester's top crimpers and cutters.

24. Will and Grace
This hit US sitcom showed us the friends and former lovers of Will and Grace as they both searched for Mr Right... and tried to avoid being upstaged by screen-hogging chums Karen and Jack.

25. The Roy Keane World Cup saga
Roy may be Ireland's best football player but manager Mick McCarthy decided he was too big for his boots and sent him home after a personal tirade that allegedly included the unforgettable phrase "Stick it up yer boll@**ks".

26. The Queen's Jubilee
Rather unexpectedly, it was the year Britain turned red, white and blue all over again while Brian May did his best Jimi Hendrix impression on the roof of Buckingham Palace.

27. Robbie Keane's last minute goal for Ireland against Germany
A fantastic goal deep into injury time by Robbie Keane won Ireland a deserved share of the points against Germany - and sent Irish fans into ecstasy.

28. Perfect Match
The unmissable Channel 4 dating series where one lucky girl or guy gets people queuing up to date them! Will their parents and friends pick their perfect partner with the help of relationship experts Jenni Trent Hughes and Ben Renshaw, or will it be a dating disaster?

29. Lennox Lewis knocks out Tyson
It was the fight the world had been waiting for and few were disappointed. Lennox had shown that Iron Mike had had his day as he held the Union Jack aloft in the ring.

30. Six Feet Under
And you thought the Osbournes were dysfunctional! The fact the Fishers run a funeral home is probably the least weird thing about them - Ruth's repressed, David's struggling with his sexuality and Nate's got a troubled girlfriend...

31. Kelly Osbourne sings Papa Don't Preach at MTV Movie AwardsOzzy's little girl launched her own singing career with a nod to the Material Girl at this year's MTV Awards. Her pouty, shouty performance turned the sulky teenager par excellence into a pink haired pop goddess.

32. The return of Bet Lynch to Coronation Street
The leopard clad bombshell is back! But could the former queen of the Street claw back her crown?

33. Bob Mortimer fights Les Dennis for Sport Aid
It's the sort of thing you might dream about after a particularly heavy meal - but it took the comedy king and the game-show god weeks to get fighting fit for the bout of the century. Forget about Lewis v Tyson - these were the lord of the rings in 2002.

34. 24
Never have so many twists and turns been packed into 24 hours of television. Jack Bauer (Keifer Sutherland) and his family were on a white-knuckle ride from the moment the clock started ticking. There were bodies everywhere when it finally screeched to a halt.
