SNOOKER PLAYER DENNIS TAYLOR'S EYE-WITNESS ACCOUNT OF TIGER WOODS WINNING THE 2001 US MASTERS TO BECOME THE FIRST GOLFER TO HOLD ALL FOUR MAJOR TITLES AT THE SAME TIME

I was very very fortunate to get to the Masters at Augusta this year. I'll never forget it as long as I live. It's the best week I think I've had. And Cliff Thorburn came from Canada, Cliff's a very good friend of mine. We didn't realise towards the end we were going to be witnessing the history that was made there with Tiger Woods winning the Masters. On the final day of the Masters, you can go down at half past seven and the gates open at eight o'clock and you can buy these little green chairs, they are 25 dollars for the chair. And you can place your chair and wherever you put your chair, it will stay there and no-one will sit in your chair. It's quite incredible. It's so well organised there. Cliff had got out of bed early in the morning and he'd gone down and he'd got three seats at the front of the 18th green as you come off and we spent the whole final day, sitting in these seats, watching every approach shot in to the 18th. And to see Tiger Woods shot - I'll never forget his last shot. You couldn't see the tee shot, you could see where the ball landed. And you've got to sort of fade it around the trees if you want to get prime position. He hit this ball, the drive, it was 320 yards with a fade. The pressure that was on him, because Duval was only one shot behind. He needed to par the hole to win. This ball landed there and I thought, that's incredible. We seen his approach shot in and to see … he knocked the long birdie putt in and we were sat right beside him watching this birdie putt. We were just ecstatic to be there and to see Tiger Woods knock that putt in and lift the trophy. He walked straight past us. Brushed past us. It was just fantastic to have been there.
