CHEF GORDON RAMSAY'S EYE-WITNESS ACCOUNT OF PRINCE NASEEM HAMED'S DEBUT IN THE UNITED STATES

The Prince Naseem and Kevin Kelley fight was Naz's debut fight in the States. We flew out there and it was just amazing when we arrived and there is this huge poster of Naz who no one knew or had even heard of. Yet there we were standing in the middle of Times Square and there's a 100 foot poster of Prince Naseem. And when that bell went off, we were just sat there in a huge shock because Naz got knocked down in the first round and Kelley was all over him. But then he came back and that is the exciting thing about boxing. And boy, oh boy, did he come back! It was a test of strength who could do the best fight and the best punch. And Naz could take Kelly's best punch but Kelly couldn't take Naz's best punch. And boy, oh boy, did he catch him and he went down and he didn't get back up. And it was just amazing. There were all the Yanks in the arena and a couple of thousand Brits. And while we were all jumping for joy and celebrating Naz's victory there was a big fight that kicked off at the back of the arena. So it was a quick exit and that was my memory of New York. Pretty scary but a great fight.
