THE 50 GREATEST COMEDY FILMS

A Fish Called Wanda or Austin Powers ? This Is Spinal Tap or There's Something about Mary - The funniest films of all time battle it out in this definitive list of The 50 Greatest Comedy Films , as voted for by the British public.

Over 22,000 votes were cast to find the nation's favourite comedy film, with contenders including: Annie Hall , Best in Show , Blazing Saddles , Bridget Jones's Diary , Clerks , Dr Strangelove , Four Weddings and a Funeral , Ghostbusters , Monty Python's Life of Brian , Shaun of the Dead , The Naked Gun , The Pink Panther , The Blues Brothers , When Harry Met Sally and Withnail and I .

Narrated by Stephen Fry, The 50 Greatest Comedy Films features the funniest clips from the top 50 films - taken from a poll conducted on the Channel 4 website - as well as exclusive interviews with the actors, directors and writers behind these classic comedies.

Interviewees include Gene Wilder, Michael Palin, Richard Curtis, Leslie Neilsen, Priscilla Presley, Steven Berkoff, Rob Reiner, Bobby Farrelly, Jerry Zucker, Terry Gilliam and not one, not two, but all of the members of Spinal Tap.

Also asked about their favourite funnies of all time are some of Britain's top comedians, including Vic Reeves, Charlie Higson and Sean Lock.
