Complete reversal this round. Dee on the backfoot while Geoff surges ahead with extraordinary quick responses to even the most cryptic number questions:

Dee wilts under a battery of arithmetic killers.
21 x 25? ***. 40% of 600? ***. Geoff, meanwhile,
doesn't get a single question wrong. A demolition
job. He walks off with 35.73 seconds. Dee is rattled.
R03 - Contemporary Knowledge
This clash could go either way. At first it's evenly matched. Like a tennis rally, it goes back and forth. Geoff gets: What nationality is weapons inspector Hans Blix? *******. Dee barely blinks on the return: Which movie did Adrian Brody win an oscar for best actor? *** *******.
Suddenly Geoff is broadsided by a dreaded 'popular music' question: Which band's albums include 'KidA' and 'Amnesiac'? *********
Geoff tries to switch himself out of trouble. But Dee switches back. Out of control, he succumbs to the slippery slope, losing both his cool and the round. Dee is left with 25.93. Geoff is not happy.
R04 - Words & Letters
Disastrous round for Geoff. Wordplay not his strongest field. Countdown supremo Dee barely breaks stride as the puzzles and anagrams come thick and fast.

Geoff flags badly. He fluffs 'In the Greek alphabet which letter comes between Theta and Kappa? ****, and starts to lose it completely. In the end he only gets 3 out of 10 correct while Dee wipes the floor with 100% of her questions right and 47.29 seconds to spare. It's not looking good for Geoff.
R05 - Combination Round
Dee sails into the final round, her 2.09.76 seconds dwarfing Geoff's 1.05.73. Her confidence shows. Instantly she answers:

Geoff valiantly fights back but his time disadvantage weighs him down. He gets tequila as the main ingredient in margarita wrong. He can't name the other planet apart from Mercury with no moons (*****). Occasional flashes of brilliance (Who is singer Lorna Luft's famous half sister? **** ******) can't save him.
Dee triumphs! She allows herself a smile. Geoff is terribly disappointed but noble in defeat.
