Hi, I'm Gerard, and I'm this week's lucky winner. Since I won I've been so excited I've had about 6 hours sleep. I've also obviously told everyone I know, in England and Ireland, that I'm going to be on the show. My mum is chuffed! I'm originally from Dublin, but I live near London now with my partner Jennie. I'm a financial adviser.

I hope this holiday is more of a success than some of our others - Jennie and I are famous for our eventful trips abroad. It all got off to a bad start on our first date, when my car got clamped in Piccadilly Circus and we had to spend the night sleeping on the back seat. Then there was the time when we went pony trekking in Jamaica and got stuck up a mountain because I lied to Jennie about how good I was at riding. Jennie repaid me by throwing up in Minnie Mouse's garden at Euro Disney. I am going to take care not to get into any more scrapes in New York.

I'm really looking forward to this week - and especially to the show on Thursday.
