A percentage of profits from viewers' calls and texts, money from ticket revenues and any other commercial contributions will be placed in the charity pot. To determine the amount raised for an athlete's individual charity, the sum in the charity pot is divided by the total number of points scored during The Games. This figure is then multiplied by the individual athlete's score to give the amount raised.
Competitors receive five points for finishing first in an event, three points for second, two for third, one for fourth and zero for coming in last. In addition, each celebrity picks up a bonus point if they beat their personal best during the live evening show. In the event of a tie, each tied athlete will be awarded the points for coming in that position. (eg. A dead heat for first place between two athletes will result in them receiving 5 points each).
If an athlete is injured then they will be examined and treated by the doctor and medical staff. If the doctor decides that the injury is too serious for the athlete to continue then that athlete will be withdrawn from the competition and may be replaced by an available substitute. The injured athlete's points and charity money will be capped and the substitute athlete will gain points for him or herself and therefore begin to accumulate money for their own charity.
The athletes will be staying in a purpose-built village at the Don Valley Stadium.
