The wonderfully Celtic theme tune is the creation of The Divine Comedy. Their song writing skills appeared a few times in the series, notably in the form of two songs for the Eurovison Song contest.
Interestingly enough Neil Hannon aka The Divine Comedy also makes an appearance in A Christmassy Ted, although only as a passing reference as Mrs Doyle attempts to try and work out Father Todd Unctious' name by listing all the priests she knows...

My Lovely Horse Lyrics (Ted and Dougal)
My lovely horse running through the field,
Where are you going with your fetlocks blowing in the wind?
I want to shower you with sugarlumps,
And ride you over fences,
Polish your hooves every single day,
And bring you to the horse dentist,
My lovely horse,
You're a pony no more,
Running around with a man on your back,
Like a train in the night,
Like a train in the night.
My lovely horse running through the field,
Where are you going with your fetlocks blowing in the wind?
I want to shower you with sugarlumps,
And ride you over fences,
Polish your hooves every single day,
And bring you to the horse dentist,
My lovely horse,
You're a pony no more,
Running around with a man on your back,
Like a train in the night,
Like a train in the night.
The Miracle is Mine (Dick Byrne's Song)
The Miracle is Mine
When I was young, I had a dream
And though the dream was very small,
It wouldn`t leave me.
To be a beggar for a fee
To play the poet or the fool
And now you see me.
And now the miracle is mine
And fault and the war begun
And now there`s nothing left to hide,
And now I`ve nothing left but time,
Still I reach out through this empty life.
The Miracle is Mine
When I was young, I had a dream
And though the dream was very small,
It wouldn`t leave me.
To be a beggar for a fee
To play the poet or the fool
And now you see me.
And now the miracle is mine
And fault and the war begun
And now there`s nothing left to hide,
And now I`ve nothing left but time,
Still I reach out through this empty life.
