David Keith
I'm back being a radiographer. I feel I changed in three main ways during filming. Firstly, my eyes were opened. I had to stop taking things at face value, and start looking at what things were really like. My mentor said 'your eyes should be hurting like hell', and that really summed it up. Secondly, my attitude to people changed. I became much more open to people, much more friendly. Thirdly, I had to fit in visually and that meant getting a new sense of style.
I have taken all these changes with me. All my female friends (and my fiancé) like my new dress sense. But my mates down the hockey club just take the piss. My interpersonal skills have really improved. At work I am much better at picking up what's going on around me. One negative effect is that I'm more laid back. In the medical world if you have an appointment at 9.30, you can't start at 10.30. In the fashion world, that's what is expected.
A part of me wanted to stay in fashion but there is so much uncertainty in that world. To be a photographer you have got to be passionate about it. I really enjoyed it, but that isn't enough. I do take more photos now, both snaps and still lifes. I am doing a shoot for a fashion magazine which my stylist on Faking It organised for me.
