Chris Sweeney
I'm homeless, jobless and looking for a record deal. My band and I are touring the States in the New Year.
After that I might go to Music College, do music production or something. Before Faking It, I'd never have thought I'd be able to do that. Faking It made me realise that I do have a skill: I've got a head for music. I know about music.
Being a conductor and being a punk singer are similar: in both you need to encourage other musicians, you need to communicate your vision for the piece. But musically, they are at opposite ends of the spectrum. Punk is about trying to better yourself. It's stripped down, raw. With classical music there's a lot of bullshit, a lot of pompous people. However I did develop an ear for classical music. Maybe I'll use elements of classical in my music.
My life had to change. Faking It came along at the right time and gave me the push I needed. When I was at school people never thought I'd amount to anything. Now I'm determined to go out there and be someone.
