Jatinder Sumal

How did you get involved in Faking It?
They phoned the shop. I spoke to a researcher for 40 minutes. I thought it was a hoax. So I checked out the website and then phoned them back. I had never heard of Faking It but all my friends said it was a really good show, so I thought I'd give it a try.

What is your favourite memory of the four weeks?
At Party In The Park in Birmingham I introduced a band in front of 20,000 people. I was very happy once I had done that.

What was the lowest point?
I was very nervous doing the Charlie's Angels premiere. I couldn't stop shaking. It was uncontrollable. I didn't like trying to interview Robbie Williams.

Why didn't you like the Robbie interview?
I was thrown in at the deep end. I didn't know what to expect. I had never been pushed and shoved like that before. Then I was told off for not asking a question.

Did you miss your children?
I phoned them every night. What helped is they never said 'when are you coming back?' They were spoilt rotten by my family and had a great time.

What was it like living with Alex?
It was brilliant. It was weird having time with no washing or ironing to do. Sometimes it was lonely being on my own reading all the celebrity magazines. It's not a life I'd like to lead now but it is a stage in life that I've missed out on.

What were the biggest obstacles that you had to overcome?
The biggest obstacle was not knowing what I was doing wrong. Everyone felt there was something missing with my performance but no one could put their finger on it.

Did you feel that you changed at all as a person during the four weeks of filming?
I am much more confident now, much more likely to speak my mind. My friends have noticed changes when we go out. It's nothing extreme, but I am happier for it.

Who was the nicest celebrity you met?
It doesn't appear in the show, but I really enjoyed interviewing Craig David. He was very friendly and very nice.
