Adam and Cliff met Dan during the Edinburgh Festival in 1995 whilst they were performing at a two-bob venue. Dan, who was appearing in a comedy thriller at the same theatre, spotted Cliff and Adam and felt he 'could really use these two losers'. From that day forth, the trio, along with friend Oliver Maltman, joined forces to work on their own collaborations. Back in London, the team worked on a revue called 'The Purple Hendrix Extravaganza'.
