Cast - Current - Tony Gates
Opinionated, determined and pretty darned tenacious - that's our lovely Dr Gates.
He began his career as a paramedic, whilst putting himself through med school, and has had his fair share of scraps with the other doctors since joining the ER, including Pratt on numerous occasions and Dr Moretti who banished him to the ICU.
Caring and brilliant at his work, Gates is also a big hit with the ladies.
He eyes were firmly set on Neela when he first got to County but it was later revealed that he had a girlfriend called Meg who's daughter, Sarah, adored him.
When Meg died from an overdose, Sarah came to live with him, along with Gates' alcoholic father, and a custody battle followed with Meg's parents.
He dated Julia - the hospital chaplain - for a while before getting it together with Sam Taggart.
They have a pretty steamy time of it, and make good use of their breaks in any available rooms or nooks and crannies that County has to offer!
