Cast - Current - Abby Lockhart
One of the main characters in the ER, Abby's come along way since she started out as Carol Hathaway's obstetric nurse way back when in Series 6.
Although generally friendly and well-liked, the path to medical success ne'er does run smooth for Abby.
When her ex-husband Richard spends her tuition money for med school, she ends up working as an intensive-care unit nurse to pay the bills.
She gets back on track in later series though, returning to her studies and passing her exams on the second attempt to become an MD in Series 10.
With a difficult childhood, resulting from her mother's bipolar disorder and having to take care of her younger brother Eric, it's no wonder Abby turns to alcohol to help deal with her woes.
She has a relationship with Dr Carter while also having a bit of slap and tickle with Luka Kova at the same time.
Dr Carter doesn't last and in time she falls pregnant. Kovac is the father so they get hitched. However, Kovac returns to Croatia and this appears too much for Abby as she hits the bottle again and gets up close and personal with Dr Moretti.
Her marriage in tatters, she's lucky to have a good friend like Neela and manages to be offered the attending spot at County at the end of Series 14.
