A heartfelt thank you to everyone that has written to me in my three months here. I've loved the whole experience and my webhut messages has been a big part of that. They've been superb and thank you all so much for taking the time and effort to write to me - it's something that i still find weird to comprehend.

Laws of Eden

1. To reach Eden the group must complete a trek through the rainforest which will take one day and one night. Edenites must carry all their belongings with them and any possessions that they cannot carry will be forfeited. Failure to complete the trek will result in automatic elimination from the show.

2. Once a week the group will hold a leadership nomination meeting which all members of the community must attend. The purpose of this meeting is to produce a minimum of two and a maximum of three leadership candidates who will then go forward to a viewer vote. Anyone who wishes to stand for election must give the group a brief outline of why they want to be leader and what they would do if elected. The incumbent leader is free to stand for re-election. The group will then vote by a public show of hands. If more than three people are nominated, the group must continue debating and voting until there are three clear candidates.

3. The three chosen candidates will go to hutcam and make a direct plea to the public to vote for them. Other Edenites may also make pleas to the public to vote for their favoured candidate.

4. The new leader will be announced when the result of the viewers vote comes through. All Edenites must attend.

5. The leader will be rewarded with the privilege of leader's hut and all its amenities, a three-minute phone call to a friend or loved one, and a two-minute message home in hutcam for themselves or an Edenite of their choosing. The producers guarantee to broadcast this message in whole or edited form.

6. No one may enter the leader's hut without his/her express permission. At night one other person may share the hut, at the leader's discretion.

7. All outside information, such as the result of viewer votes, will be passed to the leader. When the leader receives one of these he/she must convene the group and read the proclamation. No other member of the group may open or read the proclamation before the leader.

8. The leader (and only the leader) has the right to nominate another member of the community for expulsion. To do this they must call a meeting and make their case. The group member nominated for expulsion shall have the right of reply. After the meeting both parties shall make a direct appeal to the viewers in hutcam, as can any other Edenites who feel strongly. The viewers will then decide the nominee's fate.

9. A weekly poll will be conducted on the Eden website on who the viewers would like to see expelled from Eden. If any individual polls 85% or more of all votes cast that week an on-screen yes or no expulsion vote will be automatically triggered.

10. The leader will be given sole charge of distribution of all resources. Each member of the group is bound to follow the leader's decisions.

11. Once a week the producer will draw up a shortlist of possible supplies to be sent to Eden. The list will be presented to the leader and he/she should announce it immediately in a group meeting. Once Edenites have expressed their views they can appeal to the viewers via hutcam for the items they want. A viewer vote will decide which items the cast receive.

12. The webhut will be open 5 days a week. Edenites may spend a maximum of one hour per day using this facility to answer questions from their forums and update their diary page.

13. Edenites are not allowed to stray beyond the boundaries of Eden. Venturing outside Eden poses a serious safety risk. If anyone is caught beyond the boundary then the entire group's webhut privileges will be revoked and a food penalty may be imposed on the community at the producer's discretion.

14. Edenites are forbidden from exploring alone. Two or more people are permitted to explore but only if they first inform a member of the production team. All Edenites will be given a whistle, which they must carry at all times. This whistle is to be used to attract attention only in an emergency. Misuse of the whistle or failure to inform the production team of your whereabouts is a serious breach of safety regulations.

15. Anyone who deliberately sabotages or damages any of the community buildings or structures will be liable for expulsion.

16. No animals may be killed without the express permission of the producer and under the direction of the producer. Breach of this rule is a serious offence and will lead to immediate expulsion.

17. Edenites will be entrusted with the care of a domestic dog. This dog is provided to protect the group's crops from wallabies and kangaroos and its health and welfare will be treated as a priority. All necessary food for the dog will be provided by the production team.

18. There will be a prize of £10,000 for the most popular Edenite. In the penultimate week (at a time specified by the producers) a nomination meeting will be held. All members of the group must attend. Edenites are free to nominate themselves or each other by coming forward and appealing to the community. At the end of the meeting the three nominees will be chosen by an open show of hands. If no clear result is achieved by this method, then a single transferable vote will be held by secret ballot.

19. The three successful nominees will be put to a viewer vote. Once the candidates have been chosen they, and any other Edenites who feel strongly, should go to hutcam and appeal directly to the viewers.

20. The Edenite who polls the most votes will be announced in the final week of the show.

21. All Edenites must live in the area designated by the producer.

22. Any Edenite wishing to leave Eden must formally give the producer 5 days notice of their intention to quit.

23. In addition to the above, the group may vote additional Eden laws as they desire, by simple majority. These laws cannot contradict the existing laws and must be ratified by the producer.
