Jamie Pressly - Joy

Season Two Episode 13 - Buried Treasure
How was Season Two for you?
It was actually better than the first one. It just keeps getting better and better. We have an amazing group of people that I get to work with every day. Usually the first season can be great because everybody's excited. And if you have success in the first season, then you're even more excited, right? And then you come back for the second season and everybody has a big head and they don't want to do anything. That was furthest thing from what happened here. Instead, everybody came back with a vengeance.

You know, in a first season, when you come out and you do well and you get nominated for everything and you win awards and things like that – that's usually the curse of the first season. After that, it's like you can't stand up to what you did that first time around. And we did it again. Our writers and our creator, Greg Garcia, really outdid themselves. And, lucky for us, we all enjoy each other's company. There were no egos or any of that stuff you would normally deal with on a day-to-day basis on a television show. Or just in Hollywood in general, you deal with it. There are no bad seeds on our set.

There is a great chemistry amongst the cast; you do seem to genuinely enjoy a good laugh together... We really do! We'll sometimes cry we're laughing so hard! And we really do give a damn about each other, and I think that shows through on the screen. That's what endears you to the characters as well. They are the heart of the show.

Are you looking forward to the upcoming season's release on DVD?
Absolutely! Because it's so character-driven it never gets old. Whether you're watching it on a friday night drinking with your buddies or you're traveling and want something to watch – it's just a really great story and a great premise in general. Righting your wrongs, I mean God, we all have our faults and we all have a list that we could create if we wanted to. It's just none of us want to! (laughs). None of us want to go down that list.

Anything from Earl's list that's on yours?
You know, I get asked that question all the time but I can't say I've ever stolen a car from a one-legged girl! So I don't really have the same things, but I think we all have a list. Not that I have regrets in my life, but I have faults and I have things that I've done that shouldn't have done. But once you know better, you don't do it anymore.

Season Two Episode Two - Jump for Joy
Joy must be a great character to play?
She is the most colorful character I've ever played and I'm very blessed to be on a television show in which I get to play a character like her. When you do television your characters can become very monotonous. You have to play them five days a week and it can get really stale but Joy never gets stale! I'm just as excited to read the script and play that role as everyone is to see the next new show. So, yeah, I couldn't be more blessed or more happy to be able to play somebody so different.

Do you have a favorite episode in the second season?
Oh God, yes! The COPS episode – it is so good! You know, COPS? Well, we have one where everyone in Camden County was involved in a COPS episode. I think we're going to do one every year now. The numbers were amazing here when it aired but it was just so brilliant because it showed everybody's faults at one time (laughs). Everybody was just so outlandishly crazy and it showcased every single character that you've ever met in Camden County – from Kenny the gay man, to Patty the daytime hooker. All of the characters came back, which made it such a great episode.

Joy
Were you really naked in that Cops episode?
No! Me? Hell no! I'm the only girl on the set usually. There's no way you're going to catch me running around naked on that set! No, I'm considered one of the boys on that set. And I want to keep it that way (laughs)!
