Whilst it felt good being part of the workforce, after four hours of box-folding Earl is bored. When he sees what it's like on the shop floor, Earl realises his calling is to be a salesman and he sets out to prove to Mr Waadt he’s got what it takes.
The problem is front room and back room, dickies and dockers, don't mix. Moving up front alienates his old work colleagues, and his new ones aren't too pleased to see a docker on the shop floor either, and both groups go out of their way to make Earl's life difficult.
Whilst Earl is struggling to get make his sales goal, Joy is preparing Darnell for the possibility of her going to prison, whilst secretly preparing her own escape to Mexico. As Joy's new job chopping up dead horses gets off to a bumpy start, with a little help from his docker friends impressed by his tenacity, Earl takes another step on the career ladder.
Karmic Words of Wisdom
"I heard 'bitch' in there, I'm not stupid – I've been called 'bitch' in every language there is." Joy
"In my younger days I would've either stabbed him with the scissors or strangled him with the tie, but not this time. I was an adult now, and I was going to prove to everybody I was going to do it. They could cut my tie but they couldn't cut out my heart." Earl
"I'll see you there... If it's the church of some hot chick's crotchless panties, because that's where I’m going to be." Rick
