The Nutcracker
It’s not that Lisa finds Jeremy attractive; she just wants to shake things up a bit and get Nick to focus his attention on her again. Nick is, as usual, spending too much time sorting out the Darling’s problems, including protecting Karen from the dubious intentions of Simon Elder. Nick seems almost too protective of Karen suggesting he still has feelings for her but just when we think his marriage to Lisa is threatened he decides they should have another child together! Ahhh...

Being family orientated isn’t quite so easy for Patrick. He may have given up Carmelita but she won’t leave him alone claiming that she is being followed. The loyal chauffeur Clark volunteers to protect her but is foiled by an intruder who kidnaps the transsexual mistress. But who is the intruder and is this whole incident staged?

Juliet is having more luck with her love life, having fallen for a Frenchman when on holiday. He even appears at the Darling Mansion joining the family for the annual Nutcracker ballet performance but refuses any gifts from Juliet: well apart from her virginity!

The subject of sex is a controversial one for Brian and Karen. The fact Brian has a love child leads to his suspension from the church and a crisis of faith. He resolves to leave the priesthood and after some fatherly advice from Tripp, he joins the Darling business empire. A touching act of fatherly love by Tripp that is entirely ruined by his treatment of Karen – it seems she is dating Elder at her father’s request! Yes Tripp will even use his daughter in the fight against his business rival, some caring Dad he is!
