The Ski Lift
Time is drawing short for Richard Lewis, and his cousin still lies in a coma. Larry desperately tries to befriend the head of a kidney-transplant consortium in order to move Richard to the top of the donor list, and keep his own kidney…
Richard Lewis is still in need of a kidney and is “depending” on Larry because he’s so low down in the kidney transplant list and because his cousin Louis Lewis is still in a coma and, lamentably for Larry, shows no sign of dying soon. So, Larry thinks of a new plan: To get to Ben Heineman, the head of the kidney consortium, via his P.I Omar Jones.
Larry discovers that Ben Heineman is an orthodox Jew, so he tracks down his car and promptly crashes into it and leaves him a note. The two meet up in a kosher deli where Larry lays down the Judaism pretty thick by pretending that he too is orthodox. It does the trick and Larry ends up inviting Ben and his daughter Rachel to Jeff’s ski lodge.
To keep up the orthodox Jew façade, Larry unbelievably introduces Susie as his wife. Despite this wholly unrealistic scenario, things were going swimmingly until Larry’s religious ignorance caused Rachel to nearly plunge to her untimely death.
