Chet’s Shirt

Larry and Jeff invest in a new restaurant with Ted Danson. Larry, who doesn’t want to go to his dentist’s dinner party, decides to skip out and shop for waiter’s uniforms instead. He buys snazzy matching shirts for Ted and himself, but Ted’s is torn. Feelings are hurt: Ted doesn’t want the shirt, Larry doesn’t like the Tin Man, the dentist is upset and chaos ensues…

While avoiding his dentist’s dinner party, Larry looks for waiters uniforms for his new restaurant venture. Inspired by the fashion sense of a dead man, Larry buys himself and Ted Danson matching shirts (and a spare one, just in case), but offends Ted by handing him a torn shirt. Ted, upset by the incident, then demotes Larry from playing the Lion at his daughter’s Wizard of Oz party to being the Tin Man, but Larry refuses, saying, ““If I can’t be the Lion I don’t want to do the Tin Man. I don’t like the Tin Man.” Who does?

The party doesn’t get any better for Larry when Ted’s daughter, mistaking Larry for a piñata, gives him a good whack and breaks his two front teeth. His dentist, seeking vengeance for Larry’s dinner party no-show, fits him with two overly large teeth which now ironically make him resemble a donkey piñata he was mistaken for.

A family friend spots Larry wearing the same shirt as her departed husband used to own and she proceeds to cake the shirt with makeup leaving only one non-damaged shirt left. Realising this, both Larry and Ted pounce for the prized garment. Had Ted realised the consequences of this act, he probably wouldn’t have been so foolhardy in his actions.
