Larry’s goes to dinner with friends and gets a “homework assignment”. To make matters worse, Larry’s obnoxious in-laws visit, adding to his aggravation. However, there’s a twist of fate for Larry following an injury to basketball Shaq O’Neal…
Larry not only reluctantly agrees to write a letter of recommendation for a friend, but also a page in a book to celebrate a friend’s fortieth birthday. His misery’s then compounded by a visit from his in-laws.
Bizarrely, Larry’s luck changes when he gets front row seats for a Lakers game and injures their star player, Shaq O’Neil. Despite getting heckled in the street, it seems everything’s going Larry’s way: his in-laws leave, he no longer has to worry about writing a page in the birthday book, and the letter of recommendation is not needed anymore. A-woo-hoo.
Of course, Larry leading the life of Riley wouldn’t be fun to watch, so it’s not long after Larry’s buried the hatchet with Shaq that Lady Luck gives him a big old slap in the face.
