The Bracelet
There’s a bit of a falling out in the David household when Larry decides to watch the NFL on the television rather than talk to his beloved wife, Cheryl. So as to make amends for his behaviour, Larry comes to the conclusion that he should buy Cheryl a bracelet that she’s shown interest in. Easier said than done…
Due to his scruffy appearance, the jewellers mistakenly think Larry is a homeless, so they refuse to let him in. The grumbling continues when Larry’s at lunch, faced with having to tip both a waiter and a captain (whatever that is!): “You see a captain? What does he do?” Larry’s idea of getting Richard Lewis to buy him the bracelet is then thwarted by a blind man called Mike. Mike stalls the pair after they perform an unusual act of charity by helping him move his furniture.
While Larry’s once again watching the NFL on the television, Richard Lewis reveals that he now wants to get “the” bracelet for his girlfriend. The race is now on: the man to get the jewellers first thing in the morning gets the bracelet.
Larry’s clean shaven and dressed in a shirt and tie having learnt his lesson from his last visit to the jewellers, but before purchasing the bracelet Larry pays a trip to the restaurant to pick up his credit card. He’s retrieves it, but now finds his car’s been blocked in – by the captain! The race for the prize has suddenly become very interesting indeed.
