The Pants Tent
What better subject to kick off the Curb story, than Larry’s manhood? His trousers are bunching around the groin, causing much consternation. But by the end of the episode, this is the least of his worries…
Larry admirably ignores his ‘five inch bunch up’ to make his way to the cinema, offending Jeff’s Jewish parents en route by comparing his wife Cheryl to Hitler. Larry’s on a roll, especially when Nancy, Cheryl’s friend, mistakes his ‘pants tent’ for an erection. Back at the David household, Cheryl passes on a trivial apologetic message left by Jeff. Larry avoids telling Cheryl the real reason why Jeff’s sorry, but Cheryl’s suspicious.
Larry and Jeff conjure up a convoluted explanation, naturally name-dropping Cathy Griffin as a guise for Jeff’s remorse. The sorry stories don’t stop there. Larry goes to Jeff’s house to express his regret over the Hitler incident, but antagonises everyone even more when he refuses to see Jeff’s kids.
Larry and Cheryl are forced to then share a restaurant table with Jeff, Jeff’s wife Susie, and Jeff’s disgruntled parents. Surely things can’t get any worse? What if Cathy Griffin was to approach, and completely blow Larry and Jeff’s Hitler cover story? There would be a lot more apologising to do…
Larry’s friendship with Ted Danson and his wife Mary Steenburgen is going great guns, but after an emitting a rather unpleasant noise, Larry believes their relationship maybe over before it’s really begun…
