Without his wife Cheryl in his life, Larry David would surely be in prison by now. In equal portions she provides him with support, sense and incredulity at his outlandish behaviour. She’s a very charitable soul and has worked for several environmental groups; in fact, it’s this philanthropy that’s most likely kept her and Larry together.
She’s constantly nagging Larry to perform various tasks from the menial to the outright bizarre: Get a new job, get a new house, bury a wire in a garden, fire the housekeeper for not wearing a bra etc.
Despite this hen-pecking, she does genuinely love Larry and shows it in one instance in particular - by giving Larry permission to have sex with another woman. It’s these kind of actions that have lead Cheryl to become a wanted woman by all and sundry, from Jeff and his sordid fantasies, to an old millionaire, to a young actor.
